Midweek in Sauerland, part 1: Niedersfeld, Hillestausee, Ruhr Quelle

We went to Sauerland in May. We stayed in a comfortable and spacious appartment in Niedersfeld (district Winterberg) of the family Altenbeck. It has a small balcony with a great view:

Very near is a smal dammed reservoir, the Hillestausee, were we had a nice walk around. Chimay next to the reservoir:

After our walk we drove a bit around, stopped to see the source of the Ruhr (Ruhr Quelle):

Then we drove along the Bruchhauser Stones:

In Winterberg we got our groceries, I took a picture of a typical house of the area, not only the roof is covered with slate shingles, the walls are covered with them too.
