Doobie in Lelystad

Anne and Chris are the proud owners of Doobie (Plexat Derby), he is Chimay's grandson.
I met Anne through the mail and later we followed eachothers weblog, as Doobie has his own weblog. Today they came to visit us!

A first meeting is exciting, but soon enough we talked like we had known eachother for years.

Our house was still a bit warm, there was too much wind to sit comfortable in the garden, so we spend most of the evening in our garden house. We can talk about Chow Chows for hours, and so we did ;-)
Chimay avoided the camera, but I got her on this picture:

Chinka (Xin-Feng's Embla) got on Valentine's Day her first litter so we went to Almere to see (and cuddle) them!

... of 5 little bundles of joy. Chimay's daughter Chinka (Xin-Feng's Embla) got her first litter of 5, 3 females and 2 males:


The sire of these beauties is Hary-Ming Snowstar Knut.

Dutch Chow Chow Club walk

The Dutch Chow Chow Club organises a walk every year.
We never attended before, but this year we decided to go with Chimay and Ari.

The weather was great, a bit cold, but the Chows like that!

farewell Angel

On August 20th Angel (Xin-Feng's Angel) died. Hij was 14 years old.
He was the longest living Chow Chow of our A-litter.
We wish the Choudhuri family strength in this difficult time.

farewell Noes

Yesterday, eleven days before her 14th bithday, Noes (Xin-Feng's Anouska) died. Noes lived on the isle Texel and was Chimay's maternal grandmother.
We thank Henk en Nel of Vita Texla Chow Chows for giving Noes a good life. Noes was the founding bitch of their kennel.

farewell Ayla

Arend-Jan sended us a mail, Ayla (Xin-Feng's Ayla), the rough female from our first litter, died on April 17th.
She was 13 years old.

the colors red, fawn and cream in the Chow Chow breed

Today I added a new page to the website, showing the difference between the colors red, fawn (cinnamon) and cream. Sometimes these colors are mixed up and wrongly registered, my hope is that this information can help to prevent this.

Spring is in the air and no rain, so Chimay and Ari are outside.

Yesterday we went to the Zuigerplaswood. We can let Chimay off leash there.

It is hard to catch in a picture, the parts of the lake where is no snow light up in an azure color, like a glacier or the Mediterranean Sea on a sunny day.

Yesterday Marcel came with his black smooth Chow Chow Whoopi and his new smooth pup Kate (Storybook Love of the Royal Club). Ari was curious....

It looks like a Chow Chow, but it is my size??? I'll sniff very carefully.

Chimay and Ari

Last week Chimay and Ari played together in the garden after our morning walk. It is fun to watch, but hard to get a picture... I tried a few times, but each time when I got back in the garden with my camera, they had stopped playing.
Today I was inside when they started, so I grabbed the camera, went outside and was fast enough to take two pictures:When Chimay starts running through the garden, you have to watch out, don't stand in her way, because she will run right through! Ari knows, so he let her pass.Chimay thought two pictures was enough, I was happy that both were good ;-)

Then I took some close-ups of Ari:A lot of hair with the wind blowing through.
