Alas, it was not to be, Ari had not been well before we traveled to Dresden and in Dresden he became worse, his back hurted again. We did not dare to travel on, so on January 31th we drove back home and went to our veterinarian the next day.
Indeed, his backmuscle was all cramped again, Ari could barely use his backlegs. We got some extra painkillers and would see if he would improve in the next days.
This was very sad for Nathalie, who lives in Merano. I know her from LibraryThing and we would meet in real life during our stay in Merano.
We could not cancel our reservation at such a short notice, so we told Nathalie she could use (part of) our reservations (that included breakfasts & diners for two).
We were glad she did and had a well deserved "mini vacation" in her own town :-)
And on my birthday we were at home, gladly no one knew!
Ari improved a lot in a few days, so we decided to leave again to enjoy the last part of our planned vacation: 8 nights in the Black Forrest.
